Sacramento Chiropractor Takes Aim at Reducing Car Accident Injuries

Sacramento, CA, May 6, 2008 — Capitol Chiropractic Buckle-Up Safe Day 2008 will be held on Wednesday May 21, 2008 from 8 a.m. to noon and 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 9500 Micron Ave, #108, Sacramento, California.

“Our “Buckle-Up Safe Day” is a great way to help prevent and/or reduce car crash injuries to adults and children”, said Dr. Jeri Anderson, DC. “It is our way of giving back to our community, through teaching simple skills that can make a meaningful difference in the safety and quality of people’s lives. We were overwhelmed with positive feedback from our first Buckle-Up Safe Day in 2007, and look forward to providing an awesome Buckle-Up Safe Day 2008.”

There are over 3 million whiplash injuries in the United States each year. Only half will fully recover. A properly adjusted head restraint is one of the most powerful tools to help prevent or reduce whiplash injury. Amazingly, 80% of drivers do not properly adjust their head restraints. 97% of parents believe that they are using child restraint systems correctly; astonishingly, 89% are not. Only 10% of children who should be in a booster seat are in such a device, yet high-back boosters reduce injury risk by 70%.

Free adult headrest and safety restraint checks will be performed. Information on the proper use of children’s car seats and booster seats will be on hand. Refreshments provided. 2008 marks the second year that Capitol Chiropractic will host this special public service event. All are welcome to attend.

Dr. Jeri Anderson has her doctorate in Chiropractic from Life Chiropractic College-West. Dr. Anderson is a Certified Auto Safety Trainer and graduate of the Advanced Whiplash and Brain Traumatology certification program at the Spine Research Institute of San Diego. Additionally, she is certified in the care of spinal trauma patients (C.C.S.T.) by the International Chiropractors Association.
